This intaglio print was printed back in early 2011.  I had just purchased a Dremmel tool and was having a lot of fun with it.
Due to the fast moving tool, I was unable to get subtleties in tone. but the likeness is there.

Oil on Canvas
This was a self portrait I did referenced from a Photo. A black and white photo.
I found this was very difficult.  To get the skin tones correct was impossible.  I will never work from b/w for this purpose again.  Working on a canvas that i stretched myself was good, thats one of the reasons I did this as a self portrait.  I then prepared it with Rabbit skin Glue, for a super smooth surface.

Acrylic on Paper
This was done late 2010 from memory.
Hair tied back, scarf around neck, means winter.  So perhaps this was June, July of 2010.  I do recall Kari's help with this one.

Self Portrait April 2010        copyright Susana B Gonzalez
Acrylic on paper
I can still remember this disaster. Luckily I dated it... April 2010. My very first attempt at self portraiture, from my image in the mirror. This was a class assignment in Peters class. I recall we had to start with a Green Background, called Verdaccio.  The technique is meant to give the skin tones a more realistic look.  Obviously I did not quite get this right!
I was 2 months into the course and had not as yet experienced the fear of putting that first mark on that pristine white paper. This is a feeling I now struggle with on a daily basis.
